This year, Rama University's campus hosted a celebration of Independence Day on August 15. IIT Kanpur Director Professor Abhay Kumar attended the occasion as the principal guest. Additionally, I shared some of my thoughts at the programme on August 15th.

This day serves as a reminder of the greatness and sacrifice of those national heroes who gave their all to end British rule in their country. We gained independence on August 15, 1947, ending 200 years of British domination. The price and penance paid by our freedom warriors are commemorated on this day.Innumerable Heroes including Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sukhdev, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Lala Lajpat Rai, Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Khudiram Bose, He had sacrificed everything for it and made the dream of independent India come true. This year the theme of India's 75th Independence Day celebration has been 'Nation First, Always First'. As per tradition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day. We are all aware that India gained independence from the British on August 15, 1947, at midnight. India was under the British Raj for more than 200 years before gaining its freedom. The nation's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, raised the tricolor at the Red Fort for the first time on this day, or on August 15, 1947. The Indian Prime Minister has since raised the tricolor flag at Delhi's Red Fort on Independence Day each year. This day is commemorated around the nation with cultural events.
In addition to being a memorable day, Independence Day also serves as a means of honoring the numerous countrymen who gave their lives as freedom warriors. This day also serves as a platform for demonstrating our nationalism and camaraderie. Additionally, the youthful generation is motivated to serve the country by this momentous occasion. It is crucial that we recognize our obligations to the country and the value of patriotism on this Independence Day. Additionally, the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence is being observed nationwide as part of the government of India's innovative effort. On March 15, 2021, precisely 75 weeks before July 4th, it was released. On this particular day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi signalled the beginning of the occasion by leading the padayatra out of Sabarmati Ashram. The goal of this programme, which was launched with the theme "Freedom Struggle, Idea, Resolve, Action and Achievement," is to instil mutual respect and tolerance among the populace toward the revolutionaries. Ministry of Culture, Government of India has also launched the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign to make this goal more widely accessible. The Prime Minister personally invited people to fly the tricolor flag from August 2 to August 15 on social media and in a Mann Ki Baat programme. The level of zeal and fervor displayed by compatriots in support of the tricolor campaign in every home is a testament to the nation's unwavering sense of unity and integrity. This emotion will propel India to a new level in Amritkal. In order to urge people to fly the tricolour flag at their residences in remembrance of India's 75th anniversary of independence, "Har Ghar Tiranga" was organized under the auspices of the "Azadi ke Amrit" festival. We are all aware that our relationship with the flag has never been primarily personal but rather official and institutional. Bringing the flag home as a country for the 75th anniversary of independence not only represents our individual ties to the Tricolor but also demonstrates our dedication to fostering national unity. This campaign aims to raise awareness of India's national flag and instill a sense of patriotism in the hearts of the populace. The 15th of August teaches us about the value of freedom as well as our responsibilities to the nation.
